Remembering The Dream:
Marquette hall-of-famer Dean “The Dream” Meminger passed away on Aug. 23, 2013 at age 65. Under Coach Al McGuire, Meminger helped Marquette basketball win the 1970 NIT championship, claiming the MVP for the tournament. Meminger, a 1971 Marquette graduate, played for the New York Knicks and Atlanta Hawks. He also coached basketball, most recently at Manhattanville College for the 2003-04 season. “In my 25 years as a coach,” Meminger wrote, “I’ve learned that it’s pretty easy to set up a screen pass or choose the right defense. The bigger challenge is making a personal connection to your players….”

Athletes in Action Expands Jamil Wilson’s Basketball Borders
Senior men’s basketball player Jamil Wilson’s trip to the 133rd-largest country in the world marks post No. 1 in the Marquette Project300 series.
Lithuania is the destination for Wilson, as he travels with Athletes In Action’s (AIA) Basketball Tour.
Wilson, who visited Germany with the team a year ago, will share the six-game experience with nine other Division I players. The team departs on August 9 for their 10-day trip.
"Athletes In Action is a great organization, built on the right foundation," Wilson says. "It’s a good group of guys and I am really looking forward to another great learning experience.”
